The Anatoray fleet consists of 8 different classes of ships. They are the Ulster, Claimh Solais, Goliath, Majestic, Audacious, Fomor, Diadem, and Minerve classes.
These ships were designed to combat the Disith. With that in mind, we can see the cannons were placed along the top of the ship as Disith ships attack from the skies and then descend. (As seen in the first two episodes when the second fleet appears) The vital parts of the ship are found in the lower portions of the ship to protect them. The Anatoray tried to design every ship to be the same except for the Claimh Solais as it is the flag ship of Mad-Thane. (Has something to do with chivalry…)
The bridge can be found at the very front of the ship (just below the nose). The three poles sticking out on both sides are for echolocation (weaker ones can be found along the bottom of the ship as well) and the pipes along the bottom are exaust pipes for the claudia unit. The mast is positioned between the rows of turrets and can be used to fly flags, observe, and to fire signal rounds.
Classes of Anatoray Ships
There are more than 200 ships in the Anatoray fleet and this is only a sampling.
Ulster-Class: This class of ships are make up a portion of Duke Mad-Thane’s fleet. They were constructed prior to the Claimh Solais-class and the only different from those are smaller guns and a lower carrying capacity for vanships. Made in Norkia.
Ships: Ulster, Munster, Connaught, Leinster, Meath
Claimh Solais-Class: This class makes up most of Mad-Thane’s fleet. This class of ships has more advanced armor (same thickness as the Ulster-class but stronger) and has a greater carrying capacity for vanships. This is likely due to the fact that Mad-Thane liked the idea of using vanships in combat after seeing Claus and Lavie at the Battle of Minagith. This is also the class Mad-Thane uses as his flag ship.
Ships: Claimh-Solais, Brionac, Fragarach, Answerer, Gaebolg, Kaladbolg, Taslam, Pilum
Goliath-Class: This class is used as part of the Minagith Garrison force. Because of that, defense was given priority and their armor was made thicker than that of the Claimh Solais-class. Musketeer battles play a large part for this class so they have more musketeers than normal but less vanships. This is the class that the Silvana sunk in a duel at Walker’s place.
Ships: Goliath, Glory, Devastation, Armada, Temeraire, Thunderer
Majestic-Class: Assigned to the southern front defense fleet. Similar to the Claimh Solais-class except it has a inferior vanship carrying load and was considered cutting-edge until the Urbanus.
Ships: Majestic, Magnificent
Audacious-Class: Assigned to the capital defense fleet. Similar to the Claimh Solais-class except it has a inferior vanship carrying load and was considered cutting-edge until the Urbanus.
Ships: Audacious, Revenge
Fomor-Class: Part of the Mad-Thane Fleet. Similar to other ships except for the fact that it has lighter armor and smaller turrets. This makes it a lot faster so it can pursue targets more efficiently or conduct recon missions.
Ships: Fomor, Partholon, Nemed, Firbolg, De Danann, Milesia
Diadem-Class: Part of the Dalrymple Squadron. Similar to the Fomor-class but has a low vanship capacity.
Ships: Diadem
Minerve-Class: Assigned to the Royal Guards Fleet. Faster than the Fomor and Diadem classes and was used to test many concepts employed in the Urbanus. |
