Masaru, Chika, and Agumon are at Touma’s house for an afternoon lunch and Chika is really nervous about seeing Touma again. Masaru is impressed by all the luxuries Touma is able to afford. At the meal Masaru and Agumon do everything you’re not supposed to do at the dinner table which embarrasses Chika to the point where she runs out crying. Her emotions cause a Digimon to appear. The Digimon overhears Chika wish that Masaru slips on the street, get hit, run into a signpost, fall off a bridge, get run over by a car, and squashed by an oil tanker. Masaru runs after Chika and the Digimon drops a banana peel in front of him, causing him to slip and fall. Agumon tries to grab his attention and say a Digimon is nearby but Masaru ignores him because he can’t see it even though Agumon can. Agumon tries to hit the Digimon but instead hits Masaru. He asks Gaomon if he can see it but he says no. Masaru and Touma take a walk and discuss how oblivious Masaru is to his sister’s emotions.
The ghostly Digimon appears again and moves a signpost in front of Masaru so that he runs into it. Agumon tries to warn him but he ignores Agumon. Touma points out that Masaru must’ve been cursed by Chika because everything she wished would happen has happened. Masaru laughs because the next thing to happen would be falling from a bridge and there are no bridges around.. He walks away and across some chopsticks (chopsticks formed a bridge) and falls.
When Masaru enters DATS HQ the alarms go off because a Digimon is sensed and they discover at last that a Digimon has been causing everything to happen to Masaru. Masaru runs out to find Chika so he can solve everything and is then hit by a cart (supposed to be the car). Gaomon says the only thing left is an oil tanker and Raramon says that is impossible. The alarms begin to sound and they discover an oil tanker has lost control and is heading straight for them.
Masaru decides to take the oil tanker on because he knows he is what it wants to hit. Agumon runs to the docks where he finds Chika and tells her Masaru is in trouble and needs her help. Chika says she doesn’t want to help Masaru but Agumon explains that Masaru will die if she doesn’t help and that Masaru is going to sacrifice himself to help steer the tanker away from DATS.
DATS is able to learn that the Digimon is Soulmon who has the ability to turn invisible and avoid detection by their Digimon radar.
Chika and Agumon make it to where Masaru is who is awaiting the oil tanker. Yoshino appears with a boat and Masaru and Agumon use it to board the oil tanker. Before they leave to fight Soulmon, Touma gives Masaru something to detect Soulmon while he is invisible.
Masaru and Agumon board the oil tanker and head into the control room where Soulmon is controlling the ship. Agumon tries attacking but can’t see him. Masaru pulls out a special spray that Touma gave him and uses it to make Soulmon appear. Soulmon grows in size and Agumon digivolves into GeoGreymon. Soulmon grabs hold of GeoGreymon but GeoGreymon breaks free and throws Soulmon into the air and finishes him off with a Mega Burst. The oil tanker stops just yards away from DATS.
Captain Satsuma notices Touma is depressed and Touma explains he believes the Digimon appearing have been reacting to human emotion. He then says they must hurry and study this relationship between humans and Digimon. |
