Touma has returned to Japan and reveals to DATS that there are seven emotions that lead the human heart to evil. He says all the Digimon that have appeared in the world were affected by human emotion. (Wrath, Lust, Gluttony, Sloth, Envy, Greed, and Pride) Touma also shows that the digital barrier separating the two worlds has significantly shrunk which may be the work of someone or something.

An alarm sounds and the team heads to the location of where a Digimon appeared. It leads them to Masaru’s house where Sayuri and Chika have come upon a digitama. Satsuma orders them to bring the digitama back to HQ and we learn that the digitama that have appeared thus far usually mean they’re intended for a partnership with humans. When they try to grab the digitama, it begins to move and evade capture. Agumon accidentally breaks it and a Puwamon is born. Chika immediately falls in love with it and takes care of it. Agumon tries to be nice to Puwamon but every attempt is seen as him bullying. In the end, they keep Puwamon at the house because of the fear of it being influenced by human emotion.

It is night time and a Digimon has appeared in the human world. Chika wakes up and alerts everyone that Puwamon is scared of something. They assume Agumon did something and carry him off. However, when Masaru inspects Puwamon he realizes Agumon did nothing and something else is scaring Puwamon. Chika’s bedroom window shatters and a Digimon named Falcomon demands to know where the digitama is. He sees that it has hatched and pins down Masaru and attempts to take Puwamon from Chika. Touma and Gaomon appear which scares Falcomon away because he didn’t know the humans had Digimon friends. Puwamon then digivolves into Biyomon so that she can better protect Chika in the future.

In an icy cavern in the digital world, a Gotsumon is running to bring news to his master, Mercurimon. He tells Mercurimon that Falcomon has gone to the digital world to retrieve the egg which angers Mercurimon. Mercurimon rises and tells Gotsumon that he is going to the human world to retrieve Falcomon. (We learn from Gotsumon that Biyomon’s egg was sent to the digital world by a storm)

Back at Masaru’s house, Masaru fights off some doctors trying to examine Chika for a digisoul. Yoshino tells him they were doing it under Captain Satsuma’s orders which angers him. However, Sayuri appears and tells Masaru to stop. We see a scene of Sayuri and Satsuma talking about how she knew Masaru would be involved with Digimon because he is the son of “that man” (meaning Masaru’s father had something to do with Digimon) but that she doesn’t want Chika to get involved.

Masaru brings Chika and Biyomon outside and orders Biyomon to go back to the digital world. Biyomon says, “What if I say no?” and Masaru says he’ll send her back by force. The two decide to fight and Masaru has no trouble knocking Biyomon to the ground over and over. Chika tries to stop Masaru but Agumon holds her back and says he is doing this to keep Chika away from all the battles she would get involved in if Biyomon stayed and became her partner. Biyomon punches Masaru and he tells her she is weak and couldn’t even protect Chika. Masaru gains his digisoul and is about to evolve Agumon but Falcomon stops him and tells Biyomon he came to help. Biyomon says she doesn’t want the help and Falcomon attacks Chika seeing that she has affected Biyomon.
