Masaru attacks Mercurimon but his sent to the ground with a wave of Mercurimon’s hand. GeoGreymon attacks but his attack is dissipated by Mercurimon. Mercurimon then flicks his fingers and GeoGreymon, Gaogamon, and SunFlowmon fall to the ground and return to their normal levels. Biyomon tells Chika she will protect her and attacks Mercurimon. Mercurimon’s aura reduces Biyomon to a digitama and Mercurimon heads back to the digital world with Falcomon.

At DATs everyone is being patched up and Touma gets into an argument with Masaru about being able to defeat Mercurimon. Satsuma tells Masaru they won’t be able to defeat him in their current state because he is a mega level Digimon. Kudamon tells the team that Mercurimon was a forest king who governed over the Great Zaganda Forest which was in the eastern region of the digital world. Touma suggests the reason the digital barrier is breaking is because Mercurimon wants to destroy the human world.

A higher up official named Chief Hashiba from the Nation Government Confidentiality Ministry enters the room and berates Satsuma for not being able to protect the populace from the Digimon. Masaru stands up for Satsuma but Sayuri apologizes to Hashiba for Masaru. Hashiba says he wants DATs to be dissolved because they’re not doing enough.

At the docks Masaru makes a vow to make Mercurimon pay.

In Mercurimon’s lair Gotsumon yells at Falcomon for going to the digital world. He also says a person named Ikuto has been nothing but trouble since he came to their world. Falcomon defends Ikuto and the fight is interrupted by Mercurimon. The two Digimon run into his throne room and see him messing with Biyomon’s egg. Biyomon hatches and she is in a trance and is thinking about nothing but Chika. Mercurimon shocks her to make her forget about Chika and she digivolves into Aquilamon. Aquilamon flies out of the room and Mercurimon tells Gotsumon and Falcomon her heart has gone somewhere they can no longer retrieve it from.

Aquilamon appears in the human world and is caught on film by a news crew. Chika sees this and runs to the docks knowing it is Biyomon. Satsuma dispatches DATs to the docks to handle Aquilamon. Touma meets up with Masaru with a boat and transports them with Gaogamon at the helm. SunFlowmon flies out to join them and the two Digimon attack Aquilamon. The two Digimon gets their butts handed to them and Masaru hears Aquilamon say Chika’s name. DATs confirm that Aquilamon’s signature is the same as Biyomon and Masaru tries to get Aquilamon to calm down by telling her he is Chika’s brother. However, Aquilamon just attacks Touma and Masaru’s boat causing their boat to sink.

When Masaru wakes up Agumon says the old man saved them. In the distance Masaru sees Aquilamon destroying some buildings and starts to run off the fight but the old man says he is too weak to defeat Aquilamon and couldn’t even defeat him. He attacks the old man and the old man knocks him to the ground with his fishing pole. Masaru runs off and at the scene is injured by flying debris. He picks himself back up and punches Aquilamon, allowing him to evolve Agumon into GeoGreymon. GeoGreymon attacks but Aquilamon digivolves into Garudamon, an ultimate level Digimon (remember GeoGreymon is a champion level Digimon) Chika and Sayuri appears and Chika tries to get Garudamon to come back to her. However, Garudamon is too messed up in the head to see it is Chika and attacks her. GeoGreymon takes the attack but Masaru’s mom is knocked out and Chika goes unconscious.
Masaru stands up and realizes he wasn’t able to protect his family. He says he wants to be stronger and his digisoul engulfs his body. GeoGreymon is charged with perfect evolution and evolves into RiseGreymon (ultimate level) RiseGreymon attacks Garudamon and easily turns her back into a digitama. The old man tells Touma that the development of Masaru’s heart called forth a new evolution and that he realized what he values most.

Satsuma informs Hashiba that the incident with Garudamon has been handled and the chief seems to accept it. Megumi and Miki inform Satsuma that Biyomon had a touch of Mercurimon’s signature and Touma concludes Mercurimon sent Biyomon to the digital world (even though he really didn’t). They decide they must go to the digital world to kill Mercurimon and Satsuma says they must wait because he has to tell Masaru something concerning his father.
