Satsuma tells Masaru that he has news about his father. He says that 10 years ago the digital world was discovered and the government gathered specialists to the digital world to investigate. Their camps were attacked by Digimon and they almost weren’t able to return. However, Masaru’s father brought them back under his leadership but he was forced to remain in the digital world. Masaru runs home to question his mom about this and she tells him she has known all along. She tells him she was afraid to tell him because she thought he would run off to the digital world. Masaru tells her he is going to go to the digital world to defeat Mercurimon and bring his dad back. At HQ Touma and Yoshino attempt to learn more about Masaru’s father but everything is “top secret.”

Masaru, Touma, and Yoshino handle their affairs and show up at DATS the next day ready to go to the digital world. The three use the digital dive and enter the digital world but not without Mercurimon noticing. In the distance they notice their supplies land and run off to get them. They’re noticed by a young boy named Ikuto who throws a boomerang and destroys their supplies. Ikuto attacks DATs and then leads them further into the forest. He is joined by Falcomon and the two attack together. As they fight, Ikuto tells them that humans are bad (even though he is one) and that they’re trying to destroy the digital world.

A voice is heard telling everyone to get out of the forest. An ultimate level Digimon named Cherrymon appears and yells at all of them for fighting there. DATs at first believe he is with Mercurimon but Cherrymon says he makes no alliances with anyone. Ikuto tells Cherrymon to shut up because their humans and then digivolves Falcomon into Peckmon.

Peckmon and Ikuto attack DATs and return they digivolve their Digimon. They fight and Cherrymon continues to yell at them. Gotsumon appears on the back of a Yanmamon and is angry at Ikuto for fighting. Cherrymon breaks up the fight with an attack and shows that he is protecting baby Digimon known as Nyokimon. Gotsumon uses an attack that causes boulders to fall from the sky and DATs attack them to protect the baby Digimon. They’re unable to destroy a larger boulder so Masaru evolves GeoGreymon into RiseGreymon who easily destroys it.

Ikuto is unwavering even in light of Masaru’s increased power but Peckmon says they must retreat because the baby Digimon will be dragged into the fight. Cherrymon is amazed that the humans were saved and Masaru explains some humans are bad but many are also good. To thank them, Cherrymon tells the kids where Mercurimon lives…Infinite Ice Ridge. Gotsumon flies away to warn Mercurimon of the humans plans.
