The group has arrived at Ikuto’s house and Masaru questions Ikuto about remembering the house but he just sits quietly. They try ringing the door bell but receive no answer. However, they hear someone outback and see Ikuto’s mother tending to a baby. Ikuto runs off into the forest. Ikuto’s father sees Ikuto and Falcomon and comes to a screeching stop realizing he saw a Digimon. Masaru and Yoshino appear and Kenji (Ikuto’s father) tells Masaru he heard from Satsuma the news about Ikuto and is pleased to know he is alive but would like DATS to leave his family alone.

In his lab, Kenji explains to Masaru and Yoshino how they lost Ikuto. They were working on the digital gate when it suddenly activated and sucked in Ikuto. He tells of how he and his wife participated in the exploration to find their son and found nothing but his toy robot in the digital world. His wife, Misuzu, was crushed by Ikuto’s disappearance and heart has finally just been healed by their daughter’s birth. Kenji asks once more for them to leave so his wife doesn’t break down again and Masaru criticizes him for how he is acting. Masaru angrily leaves.

Ikuto is sitting in the forest and Falcomon tells him that women could be his mother. Ikuto says his mother was Frigimon but Falcomon says he could see the similarities (hair color, how they act, etc.) Ikuto shoves Falcomon to the ground and has a flashback of him, Falcomon, and Frigimon in a burning forest where Frigimon dies. Ikuto comes back to the present and tells Falcomon to follow him because he is going to show everyone that Misuzu isn’t his mother.

Kenji is looking at a picture in his study when the digital gate activates. Misuzu runs in thinking Ikuto is about to return but a Hagurumon appears. Hagurumon takes over Ikuto’s old toy robot and then the house, turning both into a giant toy robot. The Noguchi’s try to escape, but only Kenji and the baby (Yuka) escape.

Masaru and Yoshino are still unable to find Ikuto when Satsuma tells them a Digimon has appeared. Ikuto notices the Digimon and wonders if he came here under Gotsumon’s orders but Falcomon says Hagurumon never listen to anyone. Masaru and Yoshino meet up with Ikuto and Kenji runs out, saying his wife is trapped inside the giant robot. Masaru and Agumon attack the robot and the robot begins saying that it misses its mommy and wants to find her (says what Ikuto was thinking when he was separated from his family as a baby). Touma beeps in and tells them the robot is being influenced by Ikuto’s feelings. Ikuto refuses to believe his feelings are searching for Misuzu and he continues to claim he is a Digimon and his mother is Frigimon. Masaru yells at him and Ikuto seems to start listening.

Masaru evolves Agumon into RiseGreymon who smashes open the robot’s chest, revealing Misuzu. Unable to attack because of Misuzu, RiseGreymon holds the robot at bay while Ikuto rushes in and saves his mother. RiseGreymon then finishes off the robot, reducing it back to a toy, and Hagurumon into a digitama.

Misuzu embraces Ikuto which reminds him of Frigimon. The happy reunion is interrupted by Chief Hashiba who says the Noguchi’s are under arrest for interacting with Digimon and secretly researching the digital world. Ikuto tells them to stop and says he was the one doing all the things they’re charged with. He says he is the digital world’s warrior and has come to destroy the humans. Chief Hashiba changes his mind and orders his men to arrest Ikuto and Falcomon instead. However, Falcomon and Ikuto escape.
In Mercurimon’s lair, Gotsumon is trying to convince Mercurimon that Ikuto has betrayed them. Mercurimon refuses to believe Gotsumon. Gotsumon then tries to convince his master to invade the human world but Mercurimon doesn’t like the idea of war. SaberLeomon appears and is shocked to hear that Mercurimon doesn’t want to fight.
