Masaru and co. have just witnessed DATS HQ blow up. Kurata emerges from the wreckage with a Gizmon XT and enters a digital gate. The gang goes back to Masaru’s house and Ikuto tells everyone that Kurata has Digimon supporting him (the three mysterious ones). Everyone agrees that they must protect the digital world from Kurata by chasing him into the digital world. Yoshino tells them the digital dive was destroyed in the HQ explosion so that isn’t possible. Satsuma appears and says there is one option.

Masaru, Touma, and Yoshino disguise themselves and rescue Ikuto’s parents so that they can go back to the digital world (Ikuto’s parents had created a digital gate). Alarms are set off and the group escapes in a car. A chase occurs but their pursuers are destroyed by Leppamon-Kudamon’s champion form. Two mysterious figures observe Leppamon and Satsuma saving the kids from the government pursuers.

Ikuto is waiting in a theme park with Falcomon when his parents and everyone else show up. His mom asks him to stop being in danger and live with them as a family. Ikuto says he wants to protect the digital world and his mom says that she is never going to let him out of their sight. Masaru and Touma tell Kenji that they need him to open the digital gate for them since his equipment was confirmed to be working. He refuses and says he is doing it for Ikuto. Ikuto’s mom tells them all that she doesn’t care what happens to the Digimon and Ikuto responds once more that he wants to help protect the Digimon. Ikuto’s mom runs off. Kenji runs after her and says they need to support their son’s wishes. The Noguchi’s return and tell the kids that they will open the gate.

Satsuma and Kudamon tell the kids that they will join them soon. On his way, he has a car wreck because of the two mysterious figures that were watching him earlier.

Masaru and co. are now at the Noguchi residence. Miki and Megumi are standing guard outside and alert everyone that the government is about to arrive. The two mysterious figures appear in front of Megumi and Miki and easily defeat their PawnChessmon. Inside, Kenji gets the digital gate opened and the kids jump into the gate. Ikuto thanks his parents for what they did and then enters the gate.  The two mysterious figures appear and follow behind the kids into the gate. Satsuma enters the room and tells the Noguchi’s he will protect Ikuto and then he enters the gate.

While traveling in the gate. Masaru and co. run into a human whose name is Kouki. The two mysterious people from earlier appear behind the kids and their names are revealed to be Nanami and Ivan. The three use hyper bio evolution to digivolve into Digimon. Kouki changes into BioThunderBirmon. Nanami evolves into BioQuetzalmon, and Ivan evolves into BioStegomon. We learn that they were humans modified by Kurata so that they can turn into Digimon. Ikuto tells everyone they were the three Digimon he fought earlier. Agumon, Gaomon, and Raramon digivolve to their ultimate levels to fight the new foes. However, Falcomon doesn’t because he was injured fighting them earlier.

RiseGreymon, Lilamon, and MachGaogamon attack but have no effect. They’re quickly defeated but Satsuma and Kudamon appear. Satsuma evolves Kudamon into Qilinmon and fights the three Digimon so that the kids can make it to the digital world. The kids land in the digital world and witness a large explosion inside the digital gate. The gate then closes with no sign of Satsuma or their new enemies.
