Masaru and co. are now back in the digital world and are seeking Cherrymon because Cherrymon might know where Kurata is hiding. On their way, they witness a Gizmon:XT Kill a Mushroomon and absorb its data. Ikuto evolves Falcomon into Yatagaramon and attacks. More Gizmon :XT appear so Touma, Yoshino, and Masaru evolve their Digimon to their ultimate levels. They realize the Gizmon are now stronger than before and are unable to damage them. They hear someone playing a reed pipe and they see a Digimon called BanchouLeomon watching them from a cliff. The kids wonder if this new Digimon could be with Kurata but Masaru tells them there is no evil in someone that is a banchou. BanchouLeomon jumps down from the cliff and easily destroys the Gizmon:XT. BanchouLeomon asks Masaru if he would like to clash fists with him but then tells Masaru that he is too early and that they’re all lacking power. Masaru believes his fists are all the power he needs but BanchouLeomon tells him that his fists aren’t the only thing that make up power. He leaves telling them that once they receive power they can fight him. The kids realize they do lack power and Ikuto/Falcomon leave to go get more strength. The rest move on to find Cherrymon.

Kurata examines some Digimon life village he collected by massacring a Digimon village. He is informed that some of his Gizmon:XT are missing which he finds odd.

Masaru and co. wander through some deep fog and eventually hear a voice telling them to leave. Masaru says who he is and Cherrymon allows them to discover his location. The kids see a bunch of injured Digimon and are told that the Gizmon attacked them. Cherrymon has created a refuge for the injured Digmon and has surrounded it in a deep fog. They question Cherrymon about where Kurata might be but are interrupted by Kouki, Nanami, and Ivan. Nanami tells them they came to investigate the missing Gizmon but found something better. Masaru demands to know where Satsuma is and Kouki says they killed him. Ivan hits on Yoshino and Kouki says he wants to kill the injured Digimon because it will please Kurata. Kouki and Masaru rush each other. Kurata’s minions evolve into Digimon and Masaru, Touma, and Yoshino evolve their Digimon in return. The two sides begin fighting with RiseGreymon and the others once again on the losing side. Kurata’s minions go to finish off RiseGreymon and the others but Cherrymon stops them with his roots. They focus their attention and Cherrymon and uproot him. They’re about to kill Cherrymon but Masaru, Yoshino, and Touma gain their digisouls which empower their Digimon. Their digivices crack and break from the surge in power but RiseGreymon and co. defeat Kurata’s minions. Kouki, Nanami, and Ivan escape through a digital gate.
