Masaru, Touma, and Yoshino look for the Holy Capital as instructed by BanchouLeomon. While in a forest, the ground shakes and they run into a giant Digimon named ElDoradimon who carries the Holy Capital on his back. The kids are greeted by Baromon, mayor of the capital and some Pixiemon. Baromon informs the kids they have a reception waiting for them. Touma has a bad feeling about trusting these Digimon but he follows his friends in anyways.

Kouki, Nanami, and Ivan are in tubes within Kurata’s labs. Kouki is demanding more power and Kurata tells him and the others that if he gives them stronger Digimon DNA then they will be able to evolve to their mega levels…but only if their bodies can take the transformation. Kurata begins the process and the three cry out in pain.

Masaru, Yoshino, and Touma have been captured by Baromon and his guards because the Digimon believe they are the humans attacking the digital world. The kids try to explain everything but some Pumpkinmon carry them away. Masaru and co. appear in an arena attached to some poles with their partners watching from the sidelines (Think the arena from Star Wars Ep II) Another pole appears and Yushima has also been captured. The kids and Yushima are to be executed by a Digimon called Cerberumon. Agumon, Gaomon, and Raramon try to break free so they can help their partners but they are unable to break their ropes. Baromon tells them they should join their side or else they will be executed. Yushima’s Kamemon is seen approaching Agumon and co.

 Cerberumon attacks the kids but is stopped by Agumon and co. who has been freed by Kamemon. Masaru attacks Cerberumon and gets his digisoul. Baromon sees his digisoul, ElDoradimon cries out, and Masaru is about to get ShineGreymon out but Baromon yells for the execution to stop. Pixiemon question why he stopped the execution and he brings up the past. ElDoradimon was sinking because of his massive weight and he would eventually die in the deserts. However, Suguru appeared and caused water to flood the lands by gaining his digisoul and hitting the ground. This prevented ElDoradimon from sinking/dying (I didn’t really understand Baromon’s story but ElDoradimon was going to die and the capital with him but Masaru’s dad saved the day.)

Baromon asks Masaru if he is Suguru’s son and he says yes. Baromon orders a dinner to be prepared for the son of their hero. That night there is a giant feast and Baromon apologizes. The kids are glad to see Yushima again and ask him where he has been. He tells them he and Kamemon escaped Mercurimon’s lair and learned of Suguru looking for Yggdrasil. They came across the Holy Capital while looking for Suguru and was captured.  Baromon tells them Suguru is like the messiah to them which causes Touma to leave the dinner because he doesn’t feel special. Outside, Touma tells Gaomon he is envious of Masaru’s father because he is so well respected. Their conversation is interrupted by some Gizmon:XT attacking.

The capital responds with Pixiemon. Masaru and co. tell them to stop because they are just being killed and getting sucked up. Agumon, Gaomon, and Raramon evolve to their mega levels and fight the Gizmon: XT. The Gizmon:XT lead the three away from the capital which allows a lone Gizmon:XT to attack the capital. ShineGreymon and co. turn around to kill the Gizmon before it hurts the city but they won’t make it in time. Luckily, Ikuto appears with an army of Ninjamon to kill the Gizmon:XT.
