Touma strategically places ElDoradimon in the middle of the lake so that they have the advantage over Kurata and his troops. However, Masaru gets all the credit which makes Touma even more distant from the group.

Nanami observes ElDoradimon from a distance and tells Kurata they must have an intelligent person among their ranks because of the strategy being used. Kurata tells her it is Touma and that Touma is a genius which interests her. Kouki gets mad because they’re not fighting and Kurata responds that he wants to play with them first. Nearby, a Ninjamon is listening in.

The Ninjamon reports back to the Holy Capital and informs everyone he has located Kurata and his soldiers. He presents the kids with a stick figure drawing of Kurata to get a confirmation if it’s the man they’re looking for. Later in the day, Masaru announces to the city that they have located the city and that he and Ikuto will attack Kurata and avenge Mercurimon. All the citizens cheer and agree with the plan but Touma says it is a trap because they found his base so easily. He recommends staying there and letting Kurata make the first move. No one agrees with Touma but to make him happy, Masaru says only he and Ikuto will go. Yushima tells Touma that it might be best just to go with the flow. Masaru and Ikuto leave the capital and Masaru tells Touma to keep the city safe. Yoshino tries to make Touma feel better by saying the reason Masaru takes so many risks is because he trusts Touma but Touma still appears to be growing more distant from everyone.

Masaru and Ikuto have landed on shore and are making their way to Kurata’s base. Gizmon have begun attacking the Holy Capital and are met by fire from the city’s Digimon defenses. Touma tells them they’re just getting a feel for the city’s defenses and that the real target will be the waterfall. He goes to investigate the waterfalls and discovers Nanami. She tells Touma she knows the weakness in Touma’s strategy-the waterfall. If the waterfall is destroyed then ElDoradimon will be completely defenseless (water will disappear around him.) Nanami attacks Touma

Masaru and Ikuto are met by Gizmon.

Gaomon attacks Nanami but is having no effect because Nanami is reading his moves. Nanami asks Touma why he is fighting because Touma is a genius and fighting for Digimon will bring him no worth. Touma says because Digimon are his friends. Nanami says it is really because helping those weaker than him makes him feel superior.

Masaru and Ikuto continue to fight their way to Karata’s base.

Nanami plays around with Gaomon and tells Touma that she understands the loneliness in his heart (he’s lonely because he’s a genius and is surrounded by idiots). Touma asks her why she is siding with Kurata. Nanami says she isn’t but is just passing time by hunting Digimon. She says she was bored until she discovered Touma and wants him to join her so that they can change the world together as two geniuses. Touma tells her no and says he must protect the capital. He also tells her Nanami can’t defeat him now. Nanami surprises him by evolving to her mega level form, BioLotusmon. Touma evolves Gaomon into MirageGaogamon and the two Digimon battle. BioLotusmon is able to read all of MirageGaogamon’s moves and knocks him out of the way so that she can talk to Touma. She continues to try and get Touma to join her. Touma says there are powers beyond his calculation and that power is Masaru. Nanami says Touma is dependent on Masaru. MirageGaogamon breaks BioLotusmon away from Touma.

Masaru and Ikuto are still fighting waves and waves of Gizmon.

MirageGaogamon asks Touma to give him orders because BioLotusmon keeps reading his moves. BioLotusmon/Nanami is also able to read Touma so the new strategy fails. BioLotusmon/Nanami tells Touma if he joins her she won’t destroy the waterfall. Touma gives up on his strategies and goes with Masaru’s fighting style-brute force, reckless (but he doesn’t realize he is fighting like Masaru). MirageGaogamon is able to defeat BioLotusmon by fighting like Masaru. However, BioLotusmon still manages to destroy the waterfall. Nanami is back to her human form and a digitama is lying a few feet away. She tells Touma she hasn’t lost to him because Touma used Masaru’s power.
