The kids have grouped at a secret base. Masaru wonders where Touma has gone to and Yoshino is unable to make contact with him. Ikuto wonders if Touma will come back, and Masaru says of course because he would never abandon his comrades.

Touma’s helicopter lands at one of his family’s estates and he is met by his younger sister, Relena. Touma asks her what she is doing in Japan and she says that their father brought her there so that she will be cured. She meets Gaomon which makes her happy. The three meet up with their father.

Touma’s father sends Relena away so that he and Touma may talk alone. Touma tells his father he doesn’t like how he is exploiting Relena and then criticizes him for not helping him and his mother when they were suffering. The two enter a room and Touma is shocked to see Kurata waiting for him. Touma demands to know why he is there and his father says he has come to help Relena. Kurata says he wants Touma’s help/intellect in return for curing his sister.

Sayuri and Chika have brought food to the group at the secret base. When they’re about to eat, Masaru stops them and demands to know why his family is there. They say Yoshino called them and that they agreed to come. Masaru explains how dangerous the situation is and Sayuri shoves a fried egg into his hand. The group starts eating when Masaru isn’t watching. Outside Chika tells Masaru not to work too hard. BanchouLeomon appears out of nowhere and greets Masaru and his family. He shares an odd moment with Sayuri and Chika (you’ll understand this later on…).

That evening, Touma’s father tells Touma he must help his sister. The two get into an argument and Kurata breaks it up. Kurata tells Touma in the end DATS only damaged things. He then brings up Masaru and says the situation remains bad because of him. He has a flashback of Masaru as the Holy Capital’s hero. Kurata says they could end the war together and create a new world which reminds him of Nanami’s request. Relena enters the room and notices something very different about her brother. Kurata says he wishes for a peaceful world. Touma shakes Kurata’s hand and says they should create a new world together. Kurata tells Touma he wants a favor.

Inside their secret base, Masaru and Agumon tell BanchouLeomon about ElDoradimon’s death and their new sword. BanchouLeomon tells them there is something stronger called burst mode. It is capable of destroying the person/Digimon using it but also capable of giving to the users great power. Just then, they detect a Digimon outside. It turns out to be a Pixiemon who is being chased by a Gizmon. Gizmon destroys the Pixiemon. More Gizmon appear and Agumon/Raramon evolve to their mega levels. Falcomon evolves to his ultimate form (I don’t know why BanchouLeomon didn’t come and help but I guess he looks too cool on the sidelines). ShineGreymon, Rosemon, and Yatagaramon begin fighting the Gizmon. ShineGreymon is ganged up on and requests the GeoGrey Sword but Masaru is unable to bring it out. Rosemon and Yatagaramon manage to get them off him.

Touma appears and Masaru asks him where he has been. He responds by evolving Gaomon into MirageGaogamon. ShineGreymon appears and tells MirageGaogamon to help him with the Gizmon. Instead, MirageGaogamon attacks ShineGreymon. Masaru tells Touma to stop MirageGaogamon. Touma responds that as long as Masaru is around the war won’t end and that he will defeat him. Yoshino and Ikuto try to get near Touma but the Gizmon keep them away. Masaru tries to punch Touma but Touma blocks it. Touma then says he will create a peaceful world with Kurata. Masaru goes into shock and is knocked to the ground by Touma. ShineGreymon continues evading MirageGaogamon’s attack. ShineGreymon tells his old friend that he has lost all respect for him and he begins to fight back. Touma tells Masaru that using strength and force can’t protect anybody. He then tells Masaru he can’t do anything and punches him again. He says he has come to prove that. Chika has appeared and watches are favorite person in the world beat up her brother.

Kurata watches from a distance pleased at what his new allies are doing.
