Masaru has a new dark-purple aura. ShineGreymon has recovered and is now ShineGreymon Ruin Mode. Masaru has managed to activate the burst mode but, it is the version capable of destroying a person. ShineGreymon and MirageGaogamon fight and ShineGreymon injures MirageGaogamon. Masaru is yells at Touma for betraying all of their Digimon friends and then Chika gets him to stop. ShineGreymon begins to attack everything around him. BanchouLeomon appears and tells Masaru that he can’t control the power of burst mode. Touma and MirageGaogamon flee. Masaru begs ShineGreymon to stop but BanchouLeomon tells him it is not possible and that ShineGreymon will destroy himself. Masaru leaves Chika in BanchouLeomon’s care and runs off to stop ShineGreymon. Unable to, he begins crying and a tear activates his digivice. ShineGreymon begins to glow and turns back into a digitama. (The city is left in ruins from ShineGreymon’s rampage, MirageGaogamon has been injured, and ShineGreymon is now a digitama in case you lost track).

Back at the secret base, the group wonders why ShineGreymon turned back into a digitama. We learn that the digitama could hatch very fast or could never hatch. Masaru tells them Agumon will come back to him. BanchouLeomon appears and says even if he does, he may not remember Masaru. BanchouLeomon then asks Masaru how he plans on fighting Kurata without Agumon.

Touma and an injured Gaomon arrive at Kurata’s HQ and are being tailed by Ikuto and Falcomon. Kurata and Touma discuss the burst mode and Touma says he plans on getting that power for MirageGaogamon. Kurata tells Touma that may not be needed because ShineGreymon is now a digitama. Kurata then talks about his ambitions which Touma asks about. Kurata takes him to a Digimon called Belphemon Sleep Mode. Kurata tells of how he found Belphemon in some ruins in the digital world. We learn that some Digimon had locked away Belphemon’s digitama. Kurata brought the egg back and began nurturing it with the essence of Digimon (Belphemon is one of the seven demon lords and is evil-which is why his digitama was locked away). Touma and Gaomon initially believe Kurata planned on wiping out the Digimon with Belphemon but then Kurata says he wishes to rule both worlds. Ikuto/Falcomon attack from the shadows but are forced to retreat because of Gaomon.

Ikuto and Falcomon are pursued by Kurata and his Gizmon. Touma tells Kurata he and MirageGaogamon will handle it. Falcomon evolves into Yatagaramon and begins fighting MirageGaogamon. Yatagaramon asks MirageGaogamon why he is betraying them and he responds that he is simply obeying orders.

In their base, Miki and Megumi research digitamas. Yushima has disappeared. Raramon detects Yatagaramon and MirageGaogamon fighting. The group prepares to head out to help Ikuto but BanchouLeomon tells Masaru he can’t go because he’ll be useless without Agumon. Masaru says he can at least punch Touma and then BanchouLeomon criticizes him for not hearing Agumon’s screams while he was ShineGreymon Ruin Mode. BanchouLeomon tells Masaru that Agumon suffered terrible pain because Masaru didn’t use burst mode correctly.

Touma orders MirageGaogamon to capture Ikuto but Yatagaramon saves his partner. Yatagaramon continues questioning MirageGaogamon but he simply tells him he will fall his master into the depths of hell.

Masaru tells BanchouLeomon he will defeat him if he continues getting in his way. Masaru attacks but BanchouLeomon blocks. He tells Masaru that his father’s first were much stronger and that a digisoul will not be born from fists of hatred. He also says he once thought Masaru would surpass his father. BanchouLeomon leaves the room.

Yatagaramon and MirageGaogamon continue fighting. Ikuto spots MirageGaogamon’s wound that he suffered from his earlier battle and he attacks it. Touma orders MirageGaogamon to finish off Ikuto and Yatagaramon. Masaru and co. arrive on scene to witness Yatagaramon and Ikuto get hit by an attack and fall into the bay.

Kurata congratulates Touma on getting rid of the person (Ikuto) who witnessed their plans.
