Masaru and co. are looking for Ikuto and Falcomon after witnessing Touma defeat the two the day before. Ikuto and Falcomon then limp out from some warehouses.

At their headquarters, Touma delivers a controlling device to Kurata (for Belphemon). He thanks Kurata for planning on healing his sister. Kurata awakens Belphemon and Touma activates something on his watch.

Relena is being wheeled around by Yushima and Kamemon. Relena tells Yushima that her surgery is today and they see some Digimon in one room. Yushima realizes they plan on fusing her with a Digimon to “cure her.” Touma and his father appear and tell Relena to get away from Yushima.

Masaru and co. inspect Ikuto and Falcomon. Ikuto and Falcomon tell them that MirageGaogamon’s attack should’ve finished them off at the range it was used but it missed for some reason. They then tell everyone about Kurata’s plans with Belphemon.

Touma has had Yushima secured by the guards. We see Touma tell Relena that he’ll protect her and he zeros in on a device around her necklace before she is wheeled off to the operating table. Yushima tells Touma that they all believed Touma betrayed them because his sister was being held hostage but he now knows that isn’t the case. Touma tells Yushima that his abilities weren’t being fully utilized and that Kurata plans on curing his sister’s illness. Yushima points out that he really plans on fusing her with a Digimon. Touma and his father say they’re happy just as long as Relena lives.

Masaru and co. have detected Belphemon present in the city. Kurata is giving Belphemon orders to destroy the city. Hashiba watches on from his HQ and is trying to reach Kurata. Kurata makes contact with him and tells Hashiba he is controlling Belphemon. Hashiba asks him what he is after and Kurata tells him world domination and that protecting the world from Digimon makes him the most qualified for the world’s king. He also tells Hashiba to contact all nations and tell them to surrender or else.

Yoshino, Ikuto, Megumi, and Miki head out to fight Belphemon, forcing Masaru to stay behind because he is without Agumon now.

Yushima is trying to break out of a room he has been locked in to save Relena.

Relena is on the operating table with Touma and Gaomon by her side.

Yoshino and co. arrive at the battle site. Yoshino evolves Raramon into Rosemon, Ikuto evolves Falcomon into Yatagaramon, and Megumi/Miki evolve their PawnChessmon to their ultimate levels, RookChessmon and BishopChessmon. The group begins battling Belphemon. Everyone’s attacks are utterly useless and Belphemon easily knocks them back to the ground.

Inside the hide out, Masaru asks his digitama when he will hatch. He apologizes to it for never considering its feelings when it was Agumon.

The government sends in helicopters to combat Belphemon. The helicopters fire their missiles but they do nothing to Belphemon.

The doctors remove a collar that was around Relena’s neck and Touma orders Gaomon to grab it. Gaomon throws it and it explodes. Touma says the surgery is cancelled and presses his watch, destroying Kurata’s controlling device. Kurata tells Touma what happened and Touma reveals to Kurata that he planted an explosive. Touma tells Yushima there was an explosive device around his sister’s neck and that is why he betrayed them. Touma’s father enters the room and is angry at Touma. Touma vows to find a cure for his sister and leaves his family in Yushima’s cure.

Kurata curses Touma in his hideout. He activates a machine that fuses him with Belphemon now that his controller is destroyed. Belphemon changes into Belphemon Rage Mode and destroys the government’s helicopters. Yoshino hears it speak and realizes Kurata has fused with the demon lord. Touma and Gaomon arrive on seen. Gaomon digivolves into MirageGaogamon.
