The digital barrier separating the human and digital worlds is now gone leaving both on a collision course with one another. Masaru and co. look on as Touma explains what will happen with the barrier gone.

At the world tree in the digital world, a royal knight known as Craniummon has reported to the digital world’s god, Yggdrasil. Yggdrasil informs Craniummon of the collision between the two worlds. Craniummon asks if there is a way to avoid it and Yggdrasil says one world must be destroyed so that the other can survive. Craniummon asks about the humans and Yggdrasil says they must also be destroyed and proceeds to show Craniummon all the events that have unfolded-The Exploration Squad entering the digital world, Ikuto being taken from his parents, Kurata shooting at Digimon because he was scared, and creating the digital gate in Mercurimon’s lair. Craniummon agrees with Yggdrasil that the humans are selfish for their actions but still questions exterminating them. Yggdrasil reminds him of the day that Kurata entered the digital world and massacred many Digimon. Yggdrasil tells him that even in light of that event he continued to study the humans to see if they were a baneful existence.

The human world is in chaos since the digital world has appeared in the sky. ShineGreymon and MirageGaogamon rescue a plane that is about to crash.

Yggdrasil continues explaining his reasoning for wanting the human world destroyed. He tells Craniummon that the dimensional wall grew weaker because the humans experimented on it so much and this led to the Digimon entering their world. He explains the Digimon entering their world went berserk because they were influenced by human emotion. He gives credit to DATS for trying to maintain the barrier and sending Digimon back but then says humanities other actions overshadows this. He says these actions are using Digimon as weapons and proceeding to slaughter Digimon one after another. He shows Craniummon images of SaberLeomon and Mercurimon dying to a Gizmon. He brings up how Kurata abused his own race and fused them with other Digimon. We see the destruction of the holy capital by Kurata’s Gizmon Javelin for the purpose of collecting more essence of Belphemon’s revival. Yggdrasil’s last reasons are reviving Belphemon who apparently brought great harm to the digital world long ago and then causing the situation that they’re in now. Craniummon tells Yggdrasil that he and the other knights will carry out his will and then Yggdrasil disappears.

In the distance, on top of a mountain, Masaru and co. see BanchouLeomon using his digisoul to stop the digital world from colliding with the human world. They approach him and BanchouLeomon tells them that he is about to become the stone foundation for the digital world. He then tells them to go find Yggdrasil before he dies and that they will face even more calamities. The digital world then land on BanchouLeomon’s arms and his digisoul solidifies, securing the digital world just feet above the human world. Masaru tells ShineGreymon it is time to go but the others try to stop him because they think it’s too dangerous. Masaru says BanchouLeomon is giving his life to prevent the worlds from colliding and this convinces everyone to go with him back to the digital world to find Yggdrasil.
