Chika and Sayuri contact Masaru before he leaves and wish them luck. Yushima, Relena, and Touma’s father look on as Masaru, Touma, Yoshino, and Ikuto fly into the sky towards the digital world. The four are met by turbulent skies. They land in the digital world and are knocked out. Eventually they wake up on a beach and are able to see earth in the sky. Yoshino sits on a rock that moves and talks. They dig the Digimon out of the ground and are shocked to see that it is Gotsumon! Masaru grabs hold of him and asks him why he is still alive. Touma says it is possible he is completely different. Gotsumon asks them why they all seem angry at him but that it must be his imagination because he hasn’t done anything. Touma explains he must’ve forgot them when he was reborn from his digitama. Gotsumon introduces himself to everyone by shaking their hands and thanks them for saving his life by digging him out of the ground. Masaru asks him why he was buried in the beach. Gotsumon explains he was feeling uneasy this morning and came to the beach for the scenery. The sky lit up and a large Digimon fell on him. Masaru, Agumon, and Gotsumon laugh about it but the others realize ShineGreymon fell on Gotsumon. The group refocuses their attention on finding Yggdrasil but they don’t know where he is. Gotsumon says he knows where he is and the group discusses whether or not they should trust him now. Ikuto points out that old Gotsumon hated him and that now he doesn’t even remember him so it is safe to trust him. The group begins their journey to Yggdrasil with Gotsumon across a cliff face.
In the human world, Chika questions whether they should evacuate. Sayuri tells her daughter that it doesn’t matter where they go and that Masaru would be sad not to find them there when he and his friends come back. Sayuri then looks at a picture of Suguru and hopes that he would save Masaru if something was to happen to him.
Gotsumon and co. arrive at the world tree. Gotsumon explains to them that the tree supports the digital world. He also says that no one has ever seen Yggdrasil until probably now because of the crisis. Gotsumon tries to lead them closer to the tree but Craniummon appears and tells them to stop. Craniummon tells the group he will kill anyone who approaches Yggdrasil. Masaru says they just wish to talk to Yggdrasil but Craniummon knocks him down so fast that he doesn’t leave an after image. Masaru attacks Craniummon but his knocked down again. However, Masaru was able to get his digisoul by punching the air that Craniummon used in his attack. Everyone evolves their Digimon into their mega forms. Gotsumon freaks out when he realizes ShineGreymon was the Digimon who crushed him flat. Yoshino and Touma tell him it was an accident but Gotsumon says it was unforgivable. Masaru yells at him and says they came all this way trusting his word and he should trust theirs because that is what a man does. Gotsumon says he believes him. Craniummon fires off an attack at Gotsumon for bringing Masaru and co. to the world tree but ShineGreymon takes the attack for him. Gotsumon orders ShineGreymon to go attack and he does so with the others. ShineGreymon, MirageGaogamon, Rosemon, and Ravemon are no match for Craniummon. Masaru calls forth the GeoGrey Sword so Craniummon calls forth his weapon, the Claiomh Solais Demonic Spear. Craniummon tells the group that the royal knights protect Yggdrasil and challenging them is like challenging divine authority. Craniummon knocks away the GeoGrey Sword and attacks with an End Waltz. The four Digimon are on the ground and are about to be killed. Craniummon goes to attack ShineGreymon with his spear and Masaru stops it with his fist. He insults Yggdrasil for doing nothing about stopping the two worlds from colliding and knocks Craniummon over. Masaru evolves ShineGreymon into his burst mode form and attacks ShineGreymon once more. He is about to be victorious when a Digimon interferes. That Digimon is a royal knight called Gallantmon. Gallantmon criticizes Craniummon for being pushed around. Five more royal knights then appear called Magnamon, Dynasmon, Crusadermon, UlforceVeedramon, and Omnimon. Masaru and ShineGreymon say they want to take them all on but then Gallantmon uses Royal Saber. Masaru passes out and has a dream of when he was little with his dad. He is holding a frog and wants to take it with him. His father says to let him go because the frog has a mother with dinner waiting for him. His father then says let’s go home. Masaru wakes up and the knights are kneeling. Masaru picks himself up and attacks a hooded figure that has appeared (the knights were kneeling for this figure). His punch misses the figure but the figures hood comes off revealing Masaru’s father, Daimon Suguru. Masaru tries to hug him and tells him Sayuri and Chika are waiting at home for them but the man simply slaps away Masaru’s hand. Gallantmon asks him if he knows who he is talking to. Masaru believes it to be his father but Gallantmon says it is Yggdrasil. Everyone is shocked and Masaru tells his father he doesn’t understand because he was sent to see Yggdrasil. He asks what is going on and Craniummon tells him there is nothing left to say. Gallantmon says in order to save the digital world the human world must be destroyed. Masaru says they must be lying because his father would never order such a thing. Yggdrasil tells him those who are leading the worlds to their destruction are the humans and that the human world will be destroyed.
At Masaru’s house, Sayuri and Chika see a picture of their family fall to the floor with the glass around Suguru breaking. Masaru falls to his knees and Yggdrasil orders the knights to kill them. Agumon screams for Masaru to get a hold of himself but he is paralyzed. A Digimon appears called Sleipmon who picks up the group. The knights attack but Sleipmon manages to escape. The knights try to pursue but Yggdrasil tells them it is pointless because everything is about to be wiped out. |
