Inside the world tree, Yggdrasil/Suguru is having old memories of himself playing ball with Masaru. He wonders why the memories are returning because he thought he got rid of them. His crystals alert him that Craniummon has allowed Masaru and co. to pass so he orders the crystals to take care of them.

Outside, Masaru and co. are making their way up to the world tree. They’re amazed at how big it is and Gotsumon tells them it is where Yggdrasil lives. Yoshino asks if they’re going to climb it and Masaru says of course. He and Agumon rush up the base of the tree. Touma tells Gaomon to knock them down and he does so. Agumon notices a broken vine from when Gaomon knocked them down and everyone sees that it is a cable. Touma explains that the tree must be the main server that administers the digital world. Touma believes they must appear as a virus to Yggdrasil since he manages to the digital world. Ikuto discovers a way into the tree when crystals suddenly appear and attack. Agumon attacks with a baby flame but his attack is reflected. Raramon and Falcomon also use ranged attacks and see the same result. Touma tells everyone to go inside the tree while he and Gaomon hold back Yggdrasil’s security crystals. Touma evolves Gaomon into MirageGaogamon and attacks the crystals.

Gotsumon leads the others up a tunnel. When they exit it they discover some more crystals waiting for them. Masaru gets his digisoul and tries to evolve Agumon but Yoshino stops him because there isn’t enough space for a Digimon the size of ShineGreymon. Masaru and Yoshino hide behind a giant root while Ikuto discovers a path. Ikuto and Yoshino tell him to go ahead while they take care of the crystals because he is the only one who can stop his father. Yoshino also reminds him they must discover a way to stop the two worlds from colliding after they defeat his father. Masaru, Agumon, and Gotsumon leave the other two behind and begin climbing straight up towards Yggdrasil’s lair. Raramon and Falcomon evolve into Rosemon and Ravemon and begin fighting the crystals.

In the human world, Satsuma asks the Noguchi’s if they have discovered a way to repair the dimensional barrier. Mr. Noguchi says if he can understand the principles behind the space-time oscillation bombs destroying the barrier he may be able to repair it. Satsuma says if they can do that they may be able to convince Masaru’s father to stop destroying the human world. Satsuma is informed that another royal knight has appeared in the human world.

Sayuri, Chika, and the Digimon see the new royal knight appear. Biyomon takes off to counter it. She runs into Craniummon and tells him to leave. He asks her if she is another Digimon who supports humans and Biyomon responds that she will fight him. He says he doesn’t have time for this and knocks her down and flies towards Mt. Fuji. Chika finds Biyomon in a playground and Biyomon says she is okay and can still fight. Chika urges her not to and Biyomon says she promised to protect her. Biyomon says if she gives up from this then her manliness will rot (I thought she was a girl…maybe girls have manliness to?) Chika says ok and gains her digisoul. Biyomon evolves into Garudamon and Sayuri appears yelling her name. Craniummon notices the light coming from the evolution. He asks Garudamon if that light came from Chika and Garudamon tells him to bring it.

Masaru, Agumon, and Gotsumon have appeared in Yggdrasil/Suguru’s lair. Masaru tells his father to come out and he appears. Suguru/Yggdrasil tells him that a god’s dwelling isn’t a place for the likes of him. Masaru asks his father why he wants to destroy the human world and he responds that it is his duty to protect the digital world and erasing the human world is the logical answer. Masaru then asks about Sayuri and Chika and his father simply says the humans brought this on themselves. Masaru says Suguru/Yggdrasil is human too and his father just says he is a god. Masaru has flashbacks of his father giving him the pendant that symbolizes being a man and then he rushes his father. He is deflected back by a shield surrounding Yggdrasil/Suguru.

Outside the tree, MirageGaogamon still can’t destroy the crystals with his attacks. Touma tells him to use physical attacks which end up being successful. Inside, Ravemon and Rosemon discover the same thing and are able to start making progress on the crystals.

Garudamon continues attacking Craniummon. Craniummon simply blocks her attacks and flies away to Mt. Fuji saying he doesn’t have time for her. He arrives and looks at BanchouLeomon, saying he is a fool for wishing to save the human world at the cost of his life. Garudamon and Chika appear behind him and tell him to step away. Craniummon says his friend’s life is draining away and he cannot stand by and watch.
