We see Craniummon telling BanchouLeomon that he always wondered whether Yggdrasil’s way of just was true or not. He then says that BanchouLeomon must’ve always wanted to tell him such thoughts were wrong. Craniummon then calls him Daimon Suguru in front of Garudamon and Chika which shocks them. Craniummon says Chika should be able to tell of the man who passionately loved the digital world and wished for peace between humans and Digimon. Craniummon gains his digisoul and punches BanchouLeomon/Suguru’s hardened digisoul and rushes forward, catching the digital world as BanchouLeomon/Suguru falls to the side. Craniummon lifts the digital world up and BanchouLeomon/Suguru asks him why he is doing this. He says he wanted to try believing once more in the infinite possibilities humans and Digimon can create together. He then tells BanchouLeomon to go Yggdrasil.

Masaru doesn’t believe BanchouLeomon’s news at first so BanchouLeomon/Suguru reminds his son of the time he fell off the monkey bars and he rushed Masaru to the hospital. Masaru still has trouble believing so BanchouLeomon/Suguru tells him a banchou never lies. Touma, Yoshino, and Ikuto appear and are shocked to see BanchouLeomon is alive. BanchouLeomon/Suguru tells them he won’t die that easily because his body has two lives dwelling inside. (Everything on is told by Suguru and BanchouLeomon) Suguru explains that after he separated from Mercurimon he wandered the digital world searching for Yggdrasil. He tells of how he met BanchouLeomon as if it was destiny. We see BanchouLeomon telling Suguru he has some nerve stepping onto his territory without notice. Suguru apologizes and says he is on a mission to meet Yggdrasil. He asks to pass and is asked by BanchouLeomon which is greater, a god or a banchou? We see them fight with a volcano exploding in the back ground. We then see them lying down next to each other and introducing themselves (like when Agumon and Masaru met). Masaru tries to interrupt and is yelled at by his father. They continue to tell their story of how they joined up and looked for Yggdrasil together. Throughout their journey they’re never sure whether or not Yggdrasil was real or a myth. We see them wandering through the desert when a tornado appears before them. It turns out to be Craniummon who introduces himself as a royal knight and a servant of Yggdrasil. . BanchouLeomon and Suguru are pleased because they now have proof Yggdrasil exists. They request Craniummon to take them to Yggdrasil and Craniummon says Yggdrasil won’t meet a lonely human. BanchouLeomon says humans have the power of emotions and when combined with a Digimon limitless potential is born. Craniummon calls forth his spear and says he wishes to see. Suguru evolves BanchouLeomon into his burst mode and they both knock away his spear. The ground begins shaking and BanchouLeomon and Suguru hear Yggdrasil speaking to them in their heads. Yggdrasil is impressed with what the two did together. The World tree emerges from the ground. BanchouLeomon/Suguru tells Masaru and the others that when they met Yggdrasil the bright future to be shared between humans Digimon should have been recognized. However, Kurata’s invasion occurred right after. Craniummon imprisons Suguru and tells him Yggdrasil has ordered them to destroy the human world. Suguru tells Craniummon to stop the attack because humans and Digimon can appreciate one another. Craniummon tells him the sins humans have inflicted upon the Digimon are too great and that the hatred Digimon share for humans will never vanish. BanchouLeomon tells Craniummon that answering hatred with hatred only causes more hatred and that there will be no future for both worlds if they don’t break the chain of hatred. Suguru asks Craniummon to have faith in humanity just one more time and says he will bet his life on it. Craniummon questions him and BanchouLeomon tells Craniummon to believe him because a man never lies. Yggdrasil appears and accepts his word. We then see when Kurata came back and killed Mercurimon. Craniummon tells Suguru that his son is in the digital world to defeat Kurata but is utterly powerless against him. Suguru demands to be set free but BanchouLeomon tells him he made a promise with Yggdrasil and that a man doesn’t go back on his word. Suguru sadly agrees and breaks down yelling Masaru’s name. We then see Suguru at his execution. He is surrounded by the royal knights and is asked if he has any last words. He says he doesn’t want to die. He then says he wants to make his son into a fine young man. The Royal Knights are angry at what he is saying in his last hour and are about to kill him when BanchouLeomon appears. BanchouLeomon tells the knights he would like to personally kill him. BanchouLeomon punches a hole through Suguru and Suguru falls to the ground. BanchouLeomon then tells Yggdrasil that Suguru believed in a future for Digimon and humans and asks Yggdrasil to stop his attack on the human world in honor of Suguru. After the execution, BanchouLeomon is with Suguru as he is dying. He tells Suguru to become with him so that he can watch his son from the shadows and fool Yggdrasil about his death. They merge into one. Masaru finally realizes that BanchouLeomon and his dad are one. He asks his father why he never told him all this time and his father tells him that he couldn’t because they were always under watch by Yggdrasil. We see the two after they have merged. Yggdrasil appears and takes over Suguru’s body as BanchouLeomon/Suguru are heading off to fight Kurata. Yggdrasil tells them that if they ever reveal their true identities or directly involve themselves in battle then he’ll destroy Suguru’s body. Gotsumon asks why Yggdrasil would do that and Touma suggests it was a trial to test them to determine whether humans were a beneficial existence to Digimon. Yggdrasil rises up from the rubble and insults humans. Yggdrasil attacks them and says humans are unnecessary. They tell him he can’t get away with anything because he is a god. He attacks once more. Agumon and the other Digimon tell Yggdrasil they love their partners. Agumon attacks with a baby flame and Yggdrasil responds with another attack. Masaru asks his dad what they should do to defeat Yggdrasil and he tells his son there will be a time in a man’s life when he must accomplish something at the risk of his life. He then says now is that time and tells Masaru to take care of the family. He walks towards Yggdrasil as Yggdrasil attacks him. BanchouLeomon/Suguru grab hold of Yggdrasil and tell him they’re going to hell together. BanchouLeomon/Suguru tells Masaru to destroy them together. Masaru gains his digisoul and evolves Agumon into ShineGreymon. Yggdrasil tells BanchouLeomon and Suguru that they will die too if they don’t let go of him. They respond that they were prepared for death when they revealed themselves. Masaru has flashbacks of his father as ShineGreymon launches an attack at the two. As the attack destroys them, Suguru thanks Masaru.

Around the human world a bright light can be seen. The remaining royal knights look on as they realize Yggdrasil is dying. In the depths of the harbor, Gallantmon tells Sleipmon that he has realized god is not absolute too late.

Outside of the world tree, Masaru and the others look on at the burning wreckage of the world tree. Ikuto tells them they need to go home. Touma reminds them not everything is over yet because they must stop the worlds from colliding. As they prepare to leave, Yggdrasil emerges from the wreckage in his true from.
