Agumon and Masaru are battling a Tortomon. Agumon digivolves into GeoGreymon and easily defeats Tortomon. Yoshino scolds him for the amount of damage he caused to the city while fighting Tortomon but he just ignores her because he is happy with his victory.

That night Masaru and Agumon are enjoying Sayuri’s fried eggs. When it comes to the last egg, Agumon takes it from Masaru and eats it. They begin to argue about who needs who when they fight Digimon. Agumon says he is done being Masaru’s follower and goes into his digivice.

At HQ they continue fighting in front of DATS and Masaru tells Agumon he can defeat any Digimon by himself.

In the city an Elecmon appears and starts to screw with all the traffic lights.

At HQ Yoshino asks how long Masaru and Agumon can fight with each other and that they need to do something. Touma says they need to let them work it out on their own.

Gaomon tells Agumon that he doesn’t understand why he is fighting with Masaru because he never fights with his (Gaomon’s) master.

In the city Masaru runs into a group of kids he knows who want to fight with him.

At HQ Gaomon tells Agumon everything would be resolved if he came out of the digivice and made up with Masaru. Agumon says Masaru hurt his pride.

In the city Masaru kicks all the kid’s asses.

While walking on the street Masaru runs into the old man who gave him his digivice. The old man reads him a fortune saying the things you need appear when you’re not looking for them and when you’re looking for them they don’t appear. Masaru tells him he doesn’t know what he is talking about and walks away.

Elsewhere one of the kids Masaru beat up is cursing when an Elecmon appears. Elecmon blows up a bunch of cars. Masaru sees Elecmon and begins chasing him.

HQ sees Elecmon has appeared. Unable to contact Masaru, Satsuma sends Touma and Yoshino.

In the city a truck drives off the road because of Elecmon and almost hits a little girl but Masaru rescues her.

Masaru’s pursuit leads him to a radio tower where he meets Yoshino and Touma. Elecmon appears at the top of the tower and uses the electricity to evolve into (Black) Garurumon. Touma tells Masaru to stay back because Agumon isn’t with him and Gaomon/Raramon digivolve into Gaogamon and SunFlowmon. Masaru tells the two Digimon to move and that they’re the ones who should stay back. Gaogamon leaps in front of Masaru and is taken out by Garurumon. SunFlowmon tries to attack but she is also taken down.
Masaru jumps on to Garurumon who leaps away from the other two. Satsuma predicts where Garurumon is heading and orders Yoshino/Touma there. The old man appears at HQ and grabs the digivice Agumon is in.

Garurumon stops running at a construction site and begins fighting Masaru. Masaru gets his digisoul but realizes he can’t use it with Agumon. He gets knocked back and realizes he may not be strong enough to fight Garurumon. Garurumon pins him against a wall with his teeth and Masaru struggles to hold him off. Masaru realizes he’s wrong and says he needs Agumon. Agumon then appears and knocks Garurumon away with a baby flame. Agumon gives Masaru his digivice back and digivolves into GeoGreymon. The two Digimon fight with GeoGreymon victorious.

Agumon and Masaru make up but run away when Yoshino shows up and scolds them for making another mess.
