Mad-Thane is the captain of the Claimh-Solais and fleet commander of the Mad-Thane Fleet. He has a daughter named Holly and a wife who is never given a name. He is a heavy believer in chivalry.

We first see him at the Battle of Minagith where he is winning until the Disith break the Guild's rules and his fleet starts to sustain heavy losses. Due to Lavie's yelling he goes against his beliefs and saves his fleet by retreating.

He is next seen saving the Anatoray capital from the Disith and leads the assault on the Guild (he leads the Disith and Anatoray forces where as Sophia goes after Exile)

Once he wipes out the initial Guild warships, he takes his fleet into the grand stream and arrives at Exile where he leads his forces against Exile and the Guild.

He is the one who came up with the idea of using vanships as fighters in the Anatoray fleet (after seeing lavie and claus at the Battle of Minagith) He uses vanships to bomb the Guild warships and this turns out to be very successful.
