Haku/Kohaku: Haku is the right hand man of Yu-Baaba and is secretly working for her only to steal her magical secrets. He has the ability to change into a dragon and was the river spirit of the Kohaku river. Chihiro fell into the Kohaku river when she was younger and Haku rescues her which is why there is a connection between Haku and Chihiro. Throughout the movie Haku is kind to Chihiro. He helps her remember her true name, keeps her from disappearing, gets her a job from Yu-Baaba, and is there when she needs him.

On a mission for Yu-Baaba to steal a golden seal from her sister, Zeniiba, Haku is injured but recovers thanks to the love-bond shared with Chihiro. Haku had a smaller spirit placed inside of him by Yu-Baaba that allowed her to control him but while trying to save Haku from dying, Chihiro kills it.
