The Horizon Cave 8 is a race that is a front for a black market auction. The race is a eight-hour endurance run where the pilots must fix up a vanship that is in bad shape. The ship leading at midnight wins the race. Claus/Lavie, Dio/Lucciola, and Tatiana/Alister participate in the race although Claus and Dio are the only ones who take it seriously as Tatiana and Alister are on a mission. Dio ends up taking everyone in the race out but loses to Claus and Lavie because of how they filled their vanships up at the pit stop. The auction that takes place is full of black market items. The item of interest that is put up is a mysterian disguised |

| as an object that is "the key to exile". A bidding war breaks out between Delphine and Alex with the price going up into the 100's of billions. Alex is forced to quit bidding because of Duke Knowls pulling a gun on him (he wants revenge on Alex because Alex killed his son (captain of the goliath) in a duel. Alex manages to subdue the Duke and his captors and pays the person auctioning the mysterian 50 billion claudia to get it. | |||
