The episode begins with Tatiana having a flashback of a letter she wrote to her parents. Her father is sick, and her mother is caring for him. Her past is revealed to us: her position in the Anatoray army, her hopes of commanding her own ship one day.
Claus and Tatiana watch the Silvana get pulled under by the two Urbanus-class battleships as they their vanship spirals downward from damage they sustained during the battle. The Silvana shakes violently as it suffers damage from falling debris, causing Lavie to get knocked out.
As Claus and Tatiana rapidly descend towards the ground, Tatiana becomes paralyzed with fear after seeing what she believes was the Silvana sinking. Claus manages to snap Tatiana out of her frightened state and they crash in the desert.
When Tatiana awakes, Claus is already examining and working on the vanship. She begins to freak out and cry when what happened hits her once more. While sobbing, she begins to think back to a letter she wrote to her parents. In this letter we find out Tatiana was the valedictorian at the military academy.
Day turns to night and Claus has managed to start the vanship’s engine, however, the Claudia pressure won’t remain high, and Tatiana sits alone in a hopeless state.
Claus awakens during the middle of the night to discover Tatiana missing. He follows her footprints and eventually catches up to her, seeing her thinking the Silvana and everyone aboard is dead. However, Claus stays optimistic and tells her he is sure the Silvana and everyone is alright.
In the Disith homeland, a blizzard is blowing as Disith troops load civilians and supplies aboard migration capsules. (They are massive rockets.) The ships try to take off, but many of them crash because they can’t achieve proper balance.
Back in the desert, Tatiana goes for a drink but Claus tells her they will need that for the vanship or else it won’t fly. Later that day, Claus tries to capture a bird so that Tatiana and himself can ride it out of the desert. He fails and the two share a laugh.
In Claus and Lavie’s hometown of Norkia, Disith warships fly above as they have now conquered the town.
That night Tatiana and Claus share each other’s backgrounds with one another. Tatiana is a lost noble, and Claus reveals who his and Lavie’s dads are which greatly impresses Tatiana because of how skilled they were. When Claus mentions his dream of crossing the grand stream with Lavie, Tatiana describes her experience in it which sparks Claus interest in Tatiana more.
Claus tries something new with the vanship and manages to get it to fly. To Claus’s surprise, Tatiana gets in the navigator’s seat and allows Claus to fly. The two head off to where a Silvana storage shed is located. They find the shelter and are ambushed by Disith soldiers who are about to blow their brains out when the migration capsules from earlier begin to rain down, distracting the Disith soldiers. Tatiana and Claus run after the soldiers to discover the capsules have made it. |
