Claus and Tatiana have returned from the coronation ceremony and Claus notices Dio and Lucciola walking away in the hangar. Claus calls after Dio but he continues walking on. The mechanics and Lavie say how pretty the rose pedals were but Claus looks in Dio’s direction.

Aboard the bridge the crew is asking the officer when Alex will return and he says he will come back soon, he just needs a moment because of his long his with Delphine. A member of the crew discovers the Urbanus and they raise their battle status. The Urbanus fires a cease fire flare to stop the Silvana from shooting them down and a vanship lands on the Silvana.

Sophia boards the Silvana and goes to see Alex with Vincent. The three head up to the bridge and Sophia asks where Tatiana is, surprised not to see her. Vincent shows the crew the grand stream map and Sophia asks Alex where he was when he spotted Exile. Sophia says they will use the Silvana and the Urbanus to take control of Exile because their Claudia units aren’t under control of the guild. Sophia’s plan involves using echo location with torpedoes and listening for the sound of Exile’s engines. Sophia says she will take command of the mission aboard the Silvana and Vincent protests but Sophia gets her way.

Vincent leaves aboard the Urbanus, leaving Sophia behind.

In the hanger, Godwin and Gale give Claus and Lavie a new frame so that their ship can withstand the grand stream.

On the loud speaker, Sophia announces that they, and the Urbanus, are going into the grand stream and that the alliance are now their allies. They have six days to capture Exile and defeat Maestro Delphine. Claus leaves the hanger saying he is going to talk to Sophia. The mechanics cheer that Sophia is back and Godwin cries with happiness.

Sophia runs into Tatiana and says she sees Tatiana chose a pilot over a first officer. Tatiana says she just wants to fly and Sophia understands.

Claus catches Sophia before she is about to go into her room and a Anatoray bodyguard tries to get rid of him but Sophia allows him in. Claus asks what is going to happen to Exile and Sophia tells him to have a seat. Claus gets a face full of Sophia’s breasts and blushes. Sophia says Alvis is the key needed to activate Exile. Sophia then reaches for her first officer uniform and says it’s good to be back.

Alvis walks in on Dio who has clearly changed since the coronation. Alvis shows Dio a basket of rose pedals and he hits them away. Alvis begins to cry and Dio walks away.

Claus returns to the hanger and tells Lavie what Sophia told him. Claus asks where Al is and heads off to find her. Lavie and Claus find her and she tells him what Dio did. Lavie tries to tell Alvis that Dio hates flowers like people hate bugs. Claus sees the calendar that Dio has previously stabbed at and sees that his birthday is coming up.

The mechanics briefly talk about how they miss Mullin.

Maestro Delphine learns Dio still hasn’t been found. Delphine watches on a screen as a Disith ship is trying to deliver water to drought stricken people and she decides to recall their units, even though they broke no laws.

At his mansion, Duke Mad-Thane tells his family he must leave again and is interrupted by the Disith ship crashing in the distance.

At Horizon Caves, practices to capture the alliances Claudia units continue with Mullin and Dunya taking a break. Mullin examines Dunya’s gun and fixes it so that it is easier to use. Dunya asks Mullin what his medals are about and he explains. Mullin tells her if she sticks with him she’ll survive. Mullin feels like he jumped the gun like he did with Lavie/Tatiana but Dunya says she’ll stick with him.

In the engine room the engineer asks Dio if the mark of the convent is on his head. He asks Dio if he really wants to lose his freedom and Dio says it doesn’t matter what he wants, only what Delphine wants. Lucciola listens in and the engineer says he hates that ceremony.

The Silvana and Urbanus are now clipped together and are traveling near the grand stream.

Claus and Lavie hook themselves on to the Silvana and walk out to see the grand stream. Vincent orders acoustic torpedoes to be loaded and an officer aboard the Silvana practices listening for exile. The two vessels enter the grand stream and go into silent running. Vincent fires the first torpedo.

Outside Claus sees what killed their fathers and the episode ends.
