The episode begins with a flashback of a younger Dio crying, and a younger Delphine comforting him. She says she has brought him something, a “reward” and we see young Lucciola. Delphine says she is giving him to Dio and Dio asks who he is. Dio tries to think of a name for him and thinks of Lucciola. Dio hugs Lucciola which angers Delphine. Dio and Lucciola do a proper greeting. (Something interesting about this flashback is that Dio has a scratch on his right cheek. Seeing as Delphine was holding a thorny rose and the fact Dio is so scared of his sister, I assume she attacked him with her rose.) Now back in the present, Delphine greets some of her followers. Claus, Alvis, and Lucciola watch on as a bloody Dio approaches Delphine. She tells him, “Now you and I will be together, forever.”

Aboard the Urbanus, Vincent begins the operation to attack the Maestro. Sophia tells the crew of the Silvana that they must rescue Alvis. In the hangar Lavie yells, “What about Claus?!” And Gale creepily tells Lavie that he will personally rescue him.

Aboard the Disith and Anatoray ships, the soldiers are now outside the engine rooms. Mullin asks Dunya to come back to the Silvana with him after the mission and she agrees.

The echolocation officer aboard the Silvana hears the sound of rain birds and Sophia orders the two ships to go into silent running.

We see another flashback of Dio and Lucciola at dinner time. Dio asks Lucciola if he already ate and he says yes. He then asks if it was delicious and Lucciola says yes. However, Dio never sees Lucciola clutching his stomach in hunger pain.

Another feast continues between Delphine, Dio, Alvis, Claus, and Lucciola. Delphine and Dio act very…odd…close…

The Silvana and Urbanus find a fleet of Guild warships latched on to Exile.

Back at the Anatoray and Disith fleets, Mullin teaches Dunya his saying that he chants every time he goes into battle. The soldiers load their rifles and the soldiers charge into the Claudia units. The guild engineers begin opening fire. Some ships manage to capture their units, however other ships are not so lucky and sink once their ships lose their units.

We see Mullin limping into a unit full of corpses, trying to stop the unit from attaching. (Dunya got knocked down and is outside.) He looks at his hand seeing blood. He realizes he was injured.

Delphine is informed that their units are being attacked and leaves the dinner. She orders for all units to be recalled.

Claus and Alvis tell Lucciola they need to take Dio and get out of there now that Delphine is gone.

As Lucciola picks up broken glass that Delphine caused, he flashes back to a scene where Dio brings food to Lucciola. We also see a touching scene of Dio telling Lucciola they’re friends.

Lucciola thinks about Claus’s proposal and we see Dio digging away at the table with a spoon.

Aboard Mad-Thanes ship, Mad-Thane is informed of the completion of the unit capture operation.

In a Claudia unit, Dunya searches for Mullin and discovers his medals on the ground. She yells his name and walks outside to cry.

Sophia orders the Silvana and Urbanus to begin their assault on the Guild fleet.

Delphine is informed that Dio and Alvis are missing. She then asks where Lucciola is.

We see Alvis, Claus, Lucciola, and Dio arrive in a hanger where a vanship is. Lucciola gives two gifts that Dio and he wanted her to have. Claus asks about Alex and Lucciola tells him he needs to worry about those he can save. Lucciola then leaves them saying he is going to kill those who try to bring harm to Dio. We then see him blowing up a bridge to the hanger.

Guild members then ask Lucciola about Dio and he says he let him leave. They arm him with a weapon and Lucciola charges into a tunnel, killing all of the initial guards that protect Delphine. He enters Delphine’s throne and requests Dio’s freedom. He charges Delphine but Secaeda attacks him. Lucciola and his brother begin to fight. (The fight has some beauty to it. It is like watching a ballet) Lucciola manages to kill his brother. Delphine tells him he did a good job. He approaches Delphine, once again requesting Dio’s freedom. She gives him a ring as his reward, and she asks why he let Dio escape, saying they’re not even friends. She then asks what does he thinks he means to Dio. Lucciola says he is Dio’s friend and he won’t betray him.

The ring begins to glow and Lucciola evaporates into some pretty light shards. (Remember, when John Carlo had the ring, he turned to ash. I think the fact that Lucciola turn into pretty light shards means he is a good person and John Carlo wasn’t.)
