Transpose begins with a vanship pilot trying to escape from a guild starship that is firing on it. The vanship and its pilot are shot while the starship crashes into a wall and falls down into a canyon.

At their workshop Lavie is making some bagel sandwiches. When she finishes she goes to wake up Claus because it is race day. Lavie surprises Claus with a brand new booster that they earned from their previous mission.

At the race two kids encourage Claus and Lavie while “Sunny Boy” and some other pilots (Fat Chicken) come by to tease them. Hurricane Hawk (who hasn’t lost in 2 years) comes by pulling away the kids attention. The race announcer says it’s time to begin the race and the ships prepare to start. The race begins with Claus and Lavie rapidly advancing from last because they lightened their ship up so much. (The race takes place through Claus and Lavie’s town.)

Lucky Condor and Auto-boys drop out of the race. Fat Chicken knocks a vanship out and tries to prevent Claus/Lavie from passing. At the bottleneck Claus does a dive to get in front of Fat Chicken and in his anger Fat Chicken loses control of his vanship.

The Guild ship that appeared pushes itself out of some rubble, heading after the vanship it was chasing. We see the vanship pilot bleeding profusely and losing his vision.

Claus/Lavie catches up to Hurricane Hawk and Sunny Boy who are having a two-on-two race.

Back at the race Hurricane Hawk is in first, Sunny Boy second, and Lavie/Claus in third. Claus/Lavie pulls up next to Sunny Boy and attempt to get by. Nosehair (main pilot of Sunny Boy) orders his co-pilot to use the booster. The booster doesn’t work and Claus/Lavie pass them giving them second behind Hurricane Hawk.

Claus does a barrel roll which moves them ahead of Hurricane Hawk. Claus tells Lavie to use the booster and at the same time Hurricane Hawk prepares to do the same. When they use the booster the injured pilot appears causing Hurricane Hawk to crash and knocking Claus/Lavie off course. Claus tells Lavie they need to go check on the injured pilot as they see him land in some trees.

The pilot gets out of his vanship and sees that Gita, the women protecting a little girl, is dead. The little girl is Alvis Hamilton.

Claus/Lavie land their ship head over to the injured pilot. He says his name is Ralph Wednesday and asks Claus to take his mission. Claus is shocked to see his mission is a 7 star mission (the one earlier was only 3) Claus says a little pledge that he will take up the mission. He says his cargo is the girl, Alvis. Right then the Guild starship appears and Ralph tells them he will act as a decoy. He also reveals that the Guild ship can detect vanship motors so they have to float the ship down a river. As a departing gift Ralph gives Claus his figurehead.

The starship comes up on Ralph and he blows himself, and his ship up taking the starship with him. Claus and Lavie see the explosion as they float away. Claus says he must be alive because there’s no way he would die. Claus reads the mission which says they must take the girl to Alex Rowe, Captain of the Silvana!

A scene is shown of Sunny Boy cheering because they won the race. Grrr!
