In the hangar of the Silvana Claus and Lavie are trying to repair their vanship when Mullin shows up offering his help. Lavie questions if he has any mechanic skills and he claims to possess some. The mechanics over hear him and drag him away, stripping him down, and induct him into the Silvana’s crew. Lavie congratulates him and Gustavi tells Claus and Lavie that Sophia wants to see them.
Sophia tells them she wants them to participate in a vanship race at Horizon Caves. The race is a eight-hour endurance run where the pilots must fix up a vanship that is in bad shape. The ship leading at midnight wins the race. Claus doesn’t think they can do it with just them two so Sophia says Godwin and his crew will be assigned to him.
Two larger versions of a vanship (transports) depart from the Silvana with Alex, Sophia, Claus, Lavie, all the important people to Horizon caves.
In a room an old man named Duke Knowls is told that people from the Silvana are coming.
In the hangar of Horizon Caves the lottery to see who gets what vanship begins. Claus tells Alvis to choose for them and she picks a vanship very much like Claus/Lavie’s. With only three hours to prepare the ship for the race, they get to work.
Mullin is introduced to Tatiana/Alistair and calls them both babes but is warned by a mechanic to avoid her because she is crazy. Tatiana heads over to Alex and says Claus/Lavie are nuisances because Lavie had a red out and she just doesn’t like Claus. Mullin continues to talk about how good looking Tatiana is and the other mechanics continue to tell him she’s mean and crazy.
Claus and co. finish working on the vanship causing Godwin to cry.
Alex enters a secret auction wearing a mask, paying his way.
Claus and Lavie board their ship and start her up. Tatiana and Alistair take off before them.
The mechanics give Mullin a box with some secret cargo telling him to guard it. They tell him not to worry about what is in there except know it will help Tatiana. This pleases him and he accepts the duty. Sophia shows Tatiana/Alistair a map to use for their secret operation. *The Horizon Cave 8 race is a cover for a secret auction. Tatiana has a mission she will complete during the race.)
Dio appears at Claus’s vanship hugging him and officially declares Claus’s nickname. Dio and Luciola introduce themselves. Dio can’t believe Claus doesn’t recognize him so he tells him he shot him down twice already. The mechanics attack the two so they jump onto their vanship. Claus tells him to stay away from Alvis but Dio says he is here to race against him. Claus is also angry at Dio calling him Immelman so Dio tells Claus that if he (Dio) wins, Claus can tell him his real name. (yeah, that’s Dio for you.) Dio/Luciola tells Tatiana as they leave to stay out of his way.
Back at their hangar Luciola questions Dio about doing this under his sister’s nose and Dio says you just have to lay on some flattery. (Delphine is Dio’s sister, leader of the guild)
Tatiana takes off for the race but Claus and Lavie’s stalls but they manage to get it working. The race has now started.
Claus/Lavie initially focus on getting a feel for their ship while Dio taunts Tatiana which really pisses her off making her forget mission and focus on Dio instead. Seeing that immelman hasn’t appeared yet, Dio and Luciola turn their ship around to find him. Claus passes by and they begin to follow.
The auction begins with John Carlo, the administrator of Horizon cave, leading the auction. Duke Knowls takes a seat next to Alex. (Everyone is wearing a mask.)
Back at the race, Dio shows off his own version of the immelman turn and scissors (same moves Claus used when the Guild attacked the Silvana)
Duke Knowls takes notice that Alex isn’t bidding on anything. Alex says the Duke is doing the same. The Duke says he is waiting for a specific item. “Exile” is then brought out. John Carlo says it possesses the power of the gods. They item they brought out is a square with a square cut out. It supposedly can lead you to Exile. Alex immediately bids 10 million Claudia even though the starting price was much lower. |
