Outside the Crystal Ice Mirrors jutsu, Sakura encourages Naruto and Sasuke. However, Kakashi stops her and tells her that Haku is in a completely different league than Naruto and Sasuke. Sakura asks Kakashi what they should do. Kakashi runs different possibilities through his head and decides the only way to help Naruto and Sasuke is to use sharingan. Zabuza rushes forward and attempts to stop Kakashi from using his sharingan. Kakashi blocks him and the two are locked in a standoff. Zabuza tells Kakashi that even if he managed to defeat him he wouldn’t be able to defeat Haku. We see flashbacks of Haku’s training and then his eventual missions.

Inside the Crystal Ice Mirror jutsu, Naruto tries his Shadow Clone jutsu once more and attacks the mirrors. Haku destroys all of his clones and then attacks Naruto and Sasuke with his needles. Sasuke realizes he barely saw Haku move during Naruto’s attack. Naruto uses his Shadow Clone jutsu again and attacks Haku’s mirrors. Sasuke kicks some water into the air. Haku destroys the clones and then attacks Naruto and Sasuke. Sasuke was able to see Haku moving more clearly that time but knows he still can’t match Haku’s speed. He begins thinking of a plan.

Outside the jutsu, Zabuza tells Kakashi his genin will never defeat Haku. Kakashi tells Zabuza he is putting him to sleep with his sleep and reveals his sharingan. Zabuza tells Kakashi fine and that during their last battle Haku had studied Kakashi’s sharingan so that they could defeat Kakashi. Zabuza tells Kakashi that his sharingan is now useless. Zabuza uses the Hidden Mist jutsu and disappears into the mist. Kakashi tells Sakura to stay with the bridge builder and then prepares himself for Zabuza.

Inside the Crystal Ice Mirror jutsu, Haku realizes Zabuza will need him and says it is time to finish off Naruto and Sasuke. Naruto rushes Haku and uses his Shadow Clone jutsu. Haku leaps out of the mirror to attack Naruto’s clones and Sasuke uses his Fireball jutsu to attack. Haku dodges Sasuke’s jutsu and combats Naruto’s clones. Sasuke tries another Fireball jutsu and manages to singe Haku’s clothing. Haku finishes off Naruto’s clones and returns to his mirrors.

Outside, Kakashi wonders how Zabuza can see in the thick fog. Kakashi blocks some incoming shurikens and sees Zabuza appear with his eyes closed. Zabuza tells Kakashi that without his sharingan he will be finished. He explains to Kakashi that he understands how his sharingan defeated him last time. Zabuza explains how the sharingan has two elements-the piercing eye, which sees every detail and the hypnotic eye, which mesmerizes the opponent. He breaks down how Kakashi used the piercing eye element to copy his jutsu’s and then the hypnotic eye to control his movements. Zabuza tells him that this combo made it appear as if Kakashi was reading the future. He then tells Kakashi that a very simple plan will defeat the sharingan. Zabuza explains that the zero visibility mist will neutralize the piercing eye and keeping his eyes closed will prevent the hypnotic eye from doing its job. Kakashi mocks him because Zabuza won’t be able to see Kakashi. Zabuza reminds him that he is the master of the silent kill and is able to take him out by sound alone. Zabuza disappears into the mist.

Inside the Crystal Ice Mirror jutsu, Haku is shocked that Sasuke is picking up on his movements. Sasuke asks Naruto to attack once more because he is picking up Haku’s movements. Haku believes it had to be a coincidence and prepares another assault. Sasuke tells Naruto to make it outside of the jutsu and attack. As Naruto makes a run for it, Sasuke attacks with his Fireball jutsu. Haku evades it and throws a needle at Sasuke. Sasuke is hit by the needle and Naruto is knocked back by Haku. Sasuke and Naruto say they will try one more time. Sasuke realizes Haku must be running out of chakra because he is slowing down. Naruto and Sasuke try to run out but Haku attacks them with more needles.
