Inari decides to gather men from the village so that they can fight Gato and reclaim their village. He arrives at his Uncle Giichi’s house and asks his Uncle to come with him to gather men and fight at the bridge alongside Naruto. Giichi tells him no and says fighting is for heroes like Inari’s father. Inari tells his uncle they must fight for their friends and family and then runs off. Giichi listens to Inari try and recruit more men in the distance while his wife asks him if he wants to really see Inari fight alone. Inari continues trying to get the villagers to fight alongside him but no one is willing to even open their door and hear him out. He decides to fight alone and runs home to gear up.

Haku continues urging Naruto to finish him off. Naruto asks if there is no other way and Haku says there isn’t. Naruto charges Haku and says if they had met under different circumstances then they could have become friends.

Kakashi charges Zabuza with his chidori.

As Naruto is about to finish off Haku, Haku stops Naruto and disappears saying he isn’t ready to die quiet yet.

Kakashi attacks Zabuza with his chidori but a crystal ice mirror appears in front of his attack. Haku exits the mirror and takes Kakashi’s chidori for Zabuza.

At his house, Inari’s mom tries to tell Inari that he shouldn’t be going to the bridge to fight alone. Inari exits the house with his crossbow and his mother asks him what he can do as a kid. Inari says that he is a kid who wishes to fight and that he is his father’s kid. Once he leaves his house he is met by a large group of men.

The fog lifts and Naruto is able to see where Haku disappeared to. Zabuza tells Haku well done and then pulls his sword. Haku holds on to Kakashi’s arm with his last bit of strength so that he cannot escape. Zabuza attempts to slice through Haku and into Kakashi, but Kakashi picks up Haku and jumps out of the way. Kakashi lays Haku on the ground. Naruto tells Zabuza he will pay for that but Kakashi tells him to stay out of the way. Sakura notices Naruto and asks him about Sasuke. Naruto is hesitant to say anything and Sakura begins to realize what has happened. Zabuza attacks Kakashi once more but Kakashi kicks him away. The bridge builder offers to take Sakura to Sasuke so that she won’t be disobeying Kakashi’s orders to guard him.

The bridge builder and Sakura arrive at Sasuke’s corpse. Sakura kneels at his side and begins telling the bridge builder about her ninja academy career. She tells him that a shinobi should never show their feelings and then she begins crying. Naruto watches from a distance and gets choked up.
