Sasuke finds himself in a weird place and discovers a younger version of himself in front of him. Younger Sasuke is crying and is angry about his mother and father’s death. Sasuke appears in the room where his mom and dad lay dead.

Sakura asks Ino why she is helping her and Ino says she is tired of her showing off in front of Sasuke. Chouji asks Shikamaru what they’re doing and he says he doesn’t know but they can’t let a girl do all the fighting. Ino apologizes for getting them into it but says they’re a three man squad. Chouji says this is suicide and tries to escape but Shikamaru holds him back. Zaku says it better to be a live sheep than a dead lion and calls Chouji a fatty. Chouji gets pissed off and decides to fight. Ino tells Sakura to look after her teammates. Ino’s team uses formation, Ino-Shika-Cho. Chouji uses expansion jutsu to become fatter. He then uses human boulder jutsu to roll towards Zaku. Zaku uses slicing sound wave to stop his advancement but Chouji jumps the air stream and head towards Zaku. Dosu notices Zaku is in trouble and rushes to save him. Shikamaru uses shadow possession jutsu to stop him in his tracks. Chouji slams into Zaku, knocking him back. Kin asks Dosu why he is just standing there and they realize Shikamaru is using some kind of paralysis jutsu. Ino uses mind transfer jutsu to take control of Kin and tells Shikamaru to take care of her body while she is inside of Kin. Chouji continues to roll at Zaku and Zaku yells for Kin. Dosu asks what is wrong with Kin because she is just standing there. Kin speaks and tells Dosu and Zaku she will kill herself if they don’t drop their scroll and walk away (Ino is controlling her). Dosu and Zaku just laugh and Ino wonders what is up with them. Ino yells at Chouji. Zaku attacks Kin and Chouji takes the blow, turning back into his normal self. Kin lies on the ground and asks what kind of monster would attack their own teammate. Zaku says they’re monsters and Dosu tells Kin/Ino that they’re not after the scrolls or passing the test. Kin asks what they’re after then and Dosu says Sasuke. Shikamaru’s jutsu wears off, freeing Dosu. Dosu tells Shikamaru that he knows if Kin dies then so will Ino. Shikamaru asks them if that is what they’re going to do and Zaku and Dosu say they will if push comes to shove. Neji and Tenten appear and ask Dosu and Zaku if they’re ready to take on some stronger ninja. Neji activates his byakugon saying no one uses Lee as a teammate and gets away with it. Neji tells Tenten to get ready but then holds back. Dosu asks if he is going to do anything or not and Neji responds it may be out of his hands. Dosu then looks at Sasuke to see a massive purple aura around him.

Sasuke’s younger self says if he had more power then he could’ve saved the clan. He then speaks to the current Sasuke and tells him that instead he stood by and watched everyone die. The younger Sasuke then peels his skin back to reveal Orochimaru’s eyes.

Sasuke picks himself up and is surrounded by purple chakra. The curse mark has activated and black markings have appeared on the left side of his body. Sasuke asks Sakura who did this to her. Sakura asks Sasuke what has happened to him and Sasuke tells her not to worry. Sasuke says he has never felt better and that Orochimaru has helped him understand he is an avenger and must follow that path even if it leads him to evil. Dosu wonders how Sasuke survived Orochimaru’s curse mark. Sasuke asks Sakura who did this to her once more and Zaku say’s he did.

Shikamaru pulls Ino’s body into the bushes and tells her to get back into it because she doesn’t want to get involved with this. Chouji joins Shikamaru and Ino returns to her body.

Sasuke’s black markings have now covered his entire body. Dosu thinks that they can’t fight Sasuke because he is too strong thanks to the curse. Zaku asks Dosu if he is starting to get cold feet and prepares to attack. Dosu tells him to wait because he doesn’t understand but it’s too late. Zaku uses super-sonic slicing wave to try and take care of everyone at once. Zaku thinks he is successful at first but Sasuke appears behind him and knocks him to the ground. Dosu realizes that Sasuke’s speed has increased so much that he had time to even move Sakura and Naruto. Sasuke uses phoenix flower jutsu on Zaku who tries to use wind to knock it away. However, in the flames are shurikens hit Zaku. Sasuke appears behind him and puts his leg into his back. Sasuke grabs on to Zaku’s arms and pulls them back.

Ino wonders if this is really Sasuke because his chakra has become more fierce and evil.

Sasuke tells Zaku he seems to be very proud of his arms and must be attached to them. Sasuke breaks both of Zaku’s arms and then lets him drop to the ground. Sasuke tells Dosu it looks like he is the only one left and that he hopes he makes things more interesting than Zaku did. Sakura looks on thinking that this isn’t Sasuke. She begins crying and grabs hold of Sasuke telling him not to attack Dosu. Sasuke’s markings disappear and he falls to the ground. Dosu tells Sasuke he is strong and that his team can’t hope to defeat him the way he is. Dosu asks for a deal, their earth scroll in return for allowing them to leave. Dosu picks up Zaku and Kin and tells Sasuke that he learned what he needed to know. Dosu begins to leave with his teammates but stops when Sakura asks who Orochimaru is, what has he done to Sasuke, and why Sasuke. Dosu says all he knows was that his team was ordered to target Sasuke. He goes on to say that he doesn’t understand why they were sent to kill someone who was given such power. Dosu then leaves with Zaku and Kin on his back.
