The fight with Kakashi begins with Naruto throwing some throwing stars at Kakashi. Kakashi dodges and throws some in return at Naruto. Naruto uses shadow clone jutsu and his clone pulls him out of the way in mid air. Naruto transforms his clone into a giant shuriken but Kakashi grabs him from behind and tells him that’s enough. Kakashi thinks about how much Naruto has grown and then sees another Naruto behind with a kunai to his back.

From a distance Jiraiya, Tsunade, and Shizune watch on thinking that Naruto isn’t doing too bad.

Kakashi smiles and tells Naruto that he has matured but he is still as impatient as ever because he hasn’t said start yet. We see a flashback of the first bell test where Kakashi grabbed Naruto from behind. Kakashi tells Naruto and Sakura they can begin and then disappears in a plume of smoke. Naruto says that he has been tricked and Sakura calls him a twit.

At the opening to the sand village, Deidara tells Sasori that his jutsu wouldn’t have been much of a jutsu had it not worked. Sasori tells Deidara that they became loyal subordinates once their memories return. Yuura turns and the three begin working their way into the village itself and eventually arrive at the edge of the village. Deidara’s hand spits out some clay and creates a bird that he tosses to the ground. Deidara tells Sasori that he can just sit there and watch. He then performs a jutsu and his clay bird turns into a large bird that he can ride. Deidara tells Sasori and Yuura that he’ll be attacking from above and then asks Sasori what he thinks of his art. Sasori responds that he doesn’t want Deidara to keep him waiting too long. Deidara smiles and then takes off on his clay bird. Deidara thinks about the one-tail, “Ichibi, the Shukaku Jinchuuriki, Gaara of the Desert” wondering what he’ll be like.

It is now evening. Tsunade wonders what Sakura’s next move will be. Sakura looks in all directions wondering where Kakashi could be and then realizes he could only be under ground. Sakura punches the ground, causing it to split, revealing Kakashi. Kakashi is shocked at Sakura’s insane strength but Tsunade is proud. Kakashi realizes that Tsunade has been teaching Sakura more than just medial ninjutsu. Jiraiya tells Tsunade that she has raised a fine, “Second Tsunade”. Sakura tells Kakashi that she has found him. Naruto thinks to himself that he needs to stop acting stupid in front of Sakura or else he’ll get killed. Kakashi thinks to himself that Sakura focuses as much chakra as she can into her first, and then releases it all at once. He goes on to ponder that what she is doing requires precise chakra control and could become even better than Tsunade because she was originally a genjutsu type, and now possesses medical ninjutsu and crazy strength. Kakashi decides it is time for him to make a move.

Deidara continues flying over the Sand Village. With his special eye, he begins counting how many guards are watching the skies (there are three). Deidara says to himself that the village’s design is really artistic and because of that it is worth destroying. Deidara reaches into his bag and pulls out three clay spiders, deciding to use stealthy moves for now.

In his office, Gaara looks out the window.

Kakashi runs through the forest and then hides in some bushes. While looking around, he notices Naruto and thinks that the basics for a shinobi are to conceal your presence and remain hidden. Kakashi looks in another direction and then discovers Sakura. Kakashi reflects back on the first bell test when Sakura and Sasuke had hidden themselves, but Naruto had appeared before him demanding for a fair fight.  Three kunais fly at Kakashi forcing him to flee his position. Kakashi and Naruto exchange blows with their kunais in midair. Kakashi turns and throws three kunai at Naruto but Naruto flips over a branch, allowing the branch to take the three kunais. Sakura appears next to Naruto and Kakashi tells them,

“I’m going to teach the both of you something. Shinobi Tactical Knowledge Number 1: Taijutsu.”-Kakashi Hatake

 Kakashi rushes Naruto and kicks but Naruto jumps out of the way. Sakura lunges at Kakashi, throwing punch after punch. Kakashi manages to dodge them but then backs himself against a tree and barely avoids getting hit (Sakura’s punch crushes the tree). Naruto uses Multi Shadow Clone Jutsu and his clones attack Kakashi. Kakashi destroys a couple of the clones and then a clone makes a go for the bell. Kakashi throws that clone into a tree and then leaps into the air. Three Narutos follow suit but while in the air, Kakashi appears behind them and begins wrapping them. Naruto realizes Kakashi used Shadow Dance. Once the Naruto and his clones are completely wrapped, Kakashi flips them and drags them towards the ground. Naruto sees that Kakashi is using Lee’s jutsu. Sakura watches from a distance, realizing that Kakashi is putting his copy ninjutsu into effect. The three Narutos hit the ground. Kakashi sees that none of the three were the real Naruto and he begins to wonder where the real one is. Naruto leaps out of the bushes and prepares to use a Thousand Years of Death jutsu (if you remember, Kakashi did the same to Naruto during the first bell test). Kakashi freaks out and leaps into the air, causing Naruto to miss.

“That was dangerous, in a different way.”-Kakashi Hatake

Sakura tries to kick Kakashi but Kakashi ducks. Sakura’s kick destroys a tree. Naruto appears at Sakura’s side and Kakashi thinks back to the first bell test. We see Naruto threatening to beat Kakashi into a pulp, only to have Kakashi easily evade each of Naruto’s attacks and then perform a Thousand Years of Death jutsu on Naruto. We then see Sakura running through the forest. Sakura comes upon Kakashi but Kakashi then appears behind her. Kakashi thinks that for two people who have been apart for so long they aren’t a bad combination. He then thinks about how he wants to know what happens in his new book. Naruto performs Multi-Shadow Clone Jutsu once more and surrounds Kakashi. Kakashi is amazed by the sheer number of them. The Narutos attack Kakashi and Kakashi begins fighting each one. Sakura punches the ground in an attempt to hit Kakashi. However, many of the shadow clones are destroyed and Kakashi jumps out of the way. Kakashi thinks to himself that he won’t have time to read. From a distance, Jiraiya, Shizune, and Tsunade think about how the fight is beginning to get interesting. Kakashi wonders what he should do now.

It is now almost completely dark in the Sand Village. Deidara drops his three clay spiders and performs a jutsu. Three clouds of smoke are seen in the air. Each spider lands near a guard that is watching the sky. The clay spiders carefully make their way to the guards. One of the guards wonders what, “these weird things are”. Deidara replies that they aren’t weird and that idiots just don’t understand art. The three spiders jump on the guard’s faces and then Deidara causes the spider’s to explode, killing the guards.

“Idiots just don’t understand art, do they? I’ll use your bodies to show you. Art is…a blast!”-Deidara

Naruto and Sakura walk through the forest. Naruto tells Sakura that he thinks he heard the bells and Sakura tells him they need to be careful because Kakashi could have intentionally rang the bells. Naruto agrees because it is Kakashi they’re dealing with. Sasuke appears before them with kunai in his back. Sasuke asks Naruto and Sakura to help him, saying he escaped from Orochimaru. Sakura says she would’ve liked to have talked to Sasuke a bit longer and then releases the genjutsu Kakashi casted. Naruto creates a shadow clone and begins creating a Rasengan. Sakura tells Naruto that Kakashi is hiding behind a tree. Kakashi realizes he has been discovered. Naruto forces his Rasengan through the tree but Kakashi leaps out of the way. Sakura tells Kakashi that he has something to her and that she didn’t quite get it the first time. Kakashi names off the second shinobi tactic, genjutsu. We see a flashback of Kakashi performing genjutsu on Sakura, creating the illusion that Sasuke had been hurt. Kakashi is depressed that Sakura isn’t falling for it like she did before. Kakashi drops the bells and Naruto runs for them. Naruto is caught in a trap. Kakashi thinks that at least Naruto falls for the same tricks but then sees the Naruto hanging from the tree is a clone. Naruto appears and punches Kakashi, but Kakashi uses the substitution jutsu. Kakashi watches from a distance realizing that the same old tricks won’t work anymore.
